At Flora Care Home Health Services, we prioritize the health and safety of our clients, nursing staff, and office personnel. In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, we have established the following COVID-19 policies. Please note that these policies are subject to change based on evolving public health recommendations.
Hand Hygiene: All staff must perform hand hygiene frequently, using either an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or soap and water, especially before and after patient contact.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Staff should wear appropriate PPE, including masks, gloves, gowns, and eye protection, as per CDC guidelines. The selection of PPE should be based on the level of care provided and the patient's COVID-19 status.
Source Control: Universal source control measures, such as wearing masks, should be implemented in areas with high levels of respiratory virus transmission. Policies may be adjusted based on local transmission levels.

Staff: All staff members are required to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms daily. If symptoms develop, they must notify their supervisor, undergo testing, and refrain from work until they are cleared.
Clients: Prior to each visit, clients should be screened for COVID-19 symptoms. If a client exhibits symptoms or tests positive, staff should follow CDC guidelines for infection control and notify the appropriate healthcare provider.
Staff Exposure: Asymptomatic staff who have had a higher-risk exposure do not require work restriction, regardless of vaccination status, if they remain asymptomatic and test negative. Testing should be conducted immediately (but not earlier than 24 hours after exposure) and, if negative, again 48 hours after the first negative test and, if negative, again 48 hours after the second negative test.
Client Exposure: If a client is exposed to COVID-19, staff should implement appropriate infection control measures, including the use of PPE and monitoring for symptoms.
Staff are encouraged to stay up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccinations, including booster doses, as recommended by the CDC.
Masking: In areas with high transmission levels, masks are recommended for all individuals within the office. Policies may be adjusted based on local transmission levels.
Sanitization: Regular cleaning and disinfection of high-touch surfaces should be conducted in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Physical Distancing: Maintain physical distancing in communal areas and consider virtual meetings when possible.
Provide ongoing education to staff and clients about COVID-19 symptoms, transmission, prevention strategies, and company policies.
Maintain open lines of communication with local health departments to stay informed about community transmission levels and public health recommendations.
For detailed guidance, please refer to the CDC's resources for healthcare professionals.
By adhering to these policies, Flora Care Home Health Services aims to protect the health and well-being of our clients, staff, and the broader community.
